“The most fascinating aspect of this intriguing debut is the ease with which the Cuban-born Descemer moves between shameless pop and daring exploration. With its massive beat, flamenco undertones and rap interlude, the opening ‘Mueve’ is arguably the most irresistible Latin dance track of the year. The rest of the album finds the former Yerba Buena member playing the tablas, flirting with hip-hop and generating stylistic collisions in order to create something new (check out his adventurosome ‘Cumbia Reggae’).”

Descemer Bueno - Siete rayo

The underground voice of AfroCuban fusion, Descemer Bueno, is now setting the pace for the future of Latin Music. One of the pioneers of the Cuban Hip Hop movement of the last decade, Descemer blends old Cuban “Son” with the new hip sounds of today, generating one of the most authentic configurations of our time. His unique, innovative and sophisticated sound full of Jazz and Hip-Hop influence is sure to get a lot of buzz throughout the consumer market. During his talented career he has been a composer, music producer and musician - bass and guitar being his instruments of choice. Since arriving to the US from Cuba only 6 years ago, Descemer’s talents have been recognized by music heavyweights, tastemakers and studio executives. We now have the opportunity to hear his crisp and unconventional talent in his upcoming solo album being released through Universal Music Latino this fall. Bueno’s original style has been compared to such magnificent artists as Bob Marley and Manu Chao. However, he masterfully presents an alternative sound packaged in a pop production that appeals to a mass public.
